During Quiet Time, losing focus is a common experience. Just allow passing thoughts to gently wander out of your mind.
Henri Nouwen, speaking of his daily prayer, says,
“It is full of distractions, inner restlessness, sleepiness and boredom...
still the Lord speaks to me, looks at me and embraces me there... ”
You can expect periods when it is difficult to keep your mind on the words of your prayer. You need to nearly force yourself to pray.
Sometimes you just don’t feel like praying. Your prayers can seem meaningless and a waste of time. But pray anyway... because it pleases Jesus.
Tell Christ of your difficulties and of your desire to love Him more dearly. Wait patiently on the Lord.
All praise and all glory to the FATHER and to the SON
and to the HOLY SPIRIT.
Our deliverance from darkness and sin was bought at a great price. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, suffered and died on the Cross in order to free us from sin.
Although prayers or good works can never repay this great gift from God, a prayer of thanks for God’s care should be included in our daily conversations.
Jesus, I thank you for all your help to me and my family. Show me how to help others.
Jesus, I thank you for helping me and watching over me.
Jesus, I love You. Help me to love You as I should.
